Activities; Week of May 14, 2017

Recap of weeks activities:

We love good news!  Congratulations to WO2 Leone and FSgt Peshimam for receiving their staffing positions for the summer and to WO1 Beaulieu for receiving the International Exchange offer to explore the UK with other cadets as an ambassador to the squadron and Canada.  We hope you all have a great summer!

Many thanks to the cadets that participated in the Bidii Charity Race.  This is a great community activity hosted by a friend and Rotarian.  Also thanks to Capt. Hitchen, a volunteer pilot with the squadron that took some of the cadets up for a flight on Sunday morning.  It’s always a fun learning experience with the Snr Cadets cheering from the backseat as first time or newer cadets get to feel what it could really like to be a pilot.

Things of Note and/or Action Required:

–  May 18 Sports Night & Test Re-Writes:  We will have a sports night and test re-writes for those required at Glen Dhu school on Thursday, May 18.  There will not be parade on May 19 as many will be away on the year end trip.

–  Spring Gliding:  There will be sign up for the May 27th Gliding day on Thursday.  Check in with FSgt Wityszyn for sign up.
– Annual Inspection:  Please be sure to have this is on your calendar for June 3 in Pad1 at Iroquois Park.  Actual inspection time will be from 12:45pm and cadets will be need to be there early AM for practice – time to be confirmed.  Parents, family, supporters, and general public are welcome and encouraged to attend.  The display of skill from all of the cadets is great to see.  This is mandatory for cadets as their last final training exercise of the year.
