Annual Banquet – June 10th – 6 PM at Enterprise Airlines Hangar
As the end of the training year is slowly approaching, the SSC would like to invite all Cadets, Parents, Friends, Families, Staff and Volunteers to the Year End Banquet which will take place on Saturday June 10th at 6pm at the Enterprise Airlines Hangar.
We could not think of a more fitting venue to celebrate another successful training year than in an airplane hangar! Many of you have seen the inside of the hangar when you come to pick up your cadets, but if you have not been to one of our banquets before you will be amazed at the transformation of the hangar on this night! We won’t tell you too much about that here, because we’d like you all to come out and enjoy the beauty of the hangar that evening.
We can tell you that you will enjoy a wonderful meal with family and friends, hear some inspirational stories from our cadets and witness several awards being presented to very deserving members of our squadron family. The evening will be full of social interaction among friends and family alike, prizes galore from our silent auction table, draw prizes and a chance to win our 50/50 draw.
We need your help!
To offer a wide variety of prizes, we invite you all to reach out to your local business owners, your employers, business contacts, friends and family to see if they may like to offer any prizes for our auction or draw tables, to help raise much needed funds that go towards continuing the amazing programming we offer the Youth of Whitby. Each prize contributor will have the opportunity to have their business card or flyer placed in a bag that goes home with each cadet, so their benevolence will go directly to the homes of 130 of Whitby’s finest young citizens!
We would also like to thank and recognize each of our 130 cadets for jobs well done at the squadron and in the community. Perhaps you know people who could provide giveaways or coupons for the loot bags, products that are new to the marketplace, or those that are tried and true! We have had items donated that some business have had a surplus of, and coupons to redeem for free product! Whatever we can share with each cadet in Our Family while getting the word or product of the sponsor into their homes! Please consider reaching out to your contacts, donations will be greatly appreciated and welcomed up until June 3rd.
Please reserve your seats at the SSC table on Parade Nights (Deadline June 1st). Space is limited!
The fee for guests over 10 years old is $25, those under 10 are $15. Cadets need only pay a $10 deposit to reserve their seat and will receive their $10 back upon entry, after all, this is a celebration for their hard work throughout the year.

Boson Pizza Whitby has been graciously collecting receipts from anyone who has dined with them and submits their receipts with “Whitby Air Cadets” written on them. In turn they will give back a portion of the sales to our squadron!
This money will be used to offset a year-end dinner or celebration for one or more of our teams! Plan to make Boston Pizza your choice to dine with friends, colleagues or family, include “Whitby Air Cadets” on your receipt and let your waitress know.
The whole squadron could benefit from your fun! Even better – let all of your friends know to do the same and we may be able to take the entire squadron out!!!
Thanks families & friends … thanks Boston Pizza!!
A warm THANK YOU goes out to all of the cadets, parents, staff and volunteers who came out to introduce our Squadron to a crowd of over 100 guests – the largest crowd ever Sunday Style Networking!
We had a spectacular fundraiser on Sunday, thank you to all of the prize contributions from our volunteers, Durham Flight Centre, McAskill Chiropractic and Wellness Centre, Brock Street Brewery, Art & Technique Salon, Mackie Moving and Frantastic Cafe! Your donated items were all a hit with our guests and helped us raise $1140 in one afternoon.
The event was hosted at OLG Slots and sponsored by A1 Connecting – Sunday Style Networking. Sincere thanks to Edward Lam and Jenn Humphries for offering us the opportunity as Charity of Choice and the unwavering support you have shown our squadron for the past few years! The support of Ian McCutcheon and Sue Sutcliffe who pitched in and spread the word of our Squadron was stellar – you are truly amazing!
Our combined efforts led to a sell-out crowd, the likes of which have yet to be seen by another charity at Sunday Style Networking since the events’ inception!
It took a lot of coordination and effort, but the end result was well worth it! We had an “A1” day, with a ton of support for our awesome cadets, who were so well received by our incredible guests. These guests had the opportunity to get to know us, have a delicious lunch at the Gateway Restaurant, win some of our prizes and then try their luck on the slots with their credits that were a special bonus from OLG Slots.
